In a heartwarming tale, a couple in their hundreds found love and decided to tie the knot. Meet John and Phyllis Cook, residents of a senior care facility in Sylvania, Ohio. Both over 100 years old, they met in their shared home and quickly fell in love.
Phyllis, who’s turning 103 soon, shared, “We fell in love with each other, which might sound surprising at our age, but it happened.” John, a 100-year-old WWII veteran, added, “We just clicked and enjoyed spending time together.” Both had been married twice before and were widowed.
Their love story isn’t just about playing Bingo; they also enjoy spending quality time together. When asked about their favorite activity, John hinted at something private, while Phyllis boldly mentioned their active relationship. However, as Christians, they believed in waiting until marriage.
So, they decided to get married at the courthouse. Though it wasn’t the original plan, they left as husband and wife, excited to start this new chapter. Despite their age, they’re hopeful for many happy years together, possibly because Phyllis’s mother lived to be 106.
Their story shows that it’s never too late for love and new beginnings. Even though they’re married, they still value having their own space, each keeping their own apartment. After all, why rush things?
This touching story proves that love knows no age, and it’s never too late to find happiness.
