When the egg hatched, out came a tiny duckling that Khalaf named Spike. From that moment, the two formed an unbreakable bond that quickly captured the hearts of Khalaf’s followers on Instagram.
Khalaf described his feelings about Spike, saying, “I felt a presence and a weird paternal bond almost straight away. It sounded silly at first, but I soon realized how deeply connected we’d become.”

My ADHD hyperfocus and obsession with him turned into a beautiful symbiosis. He gives me daily purpose and joy, and I’m helping him thrive in return.”

Although their time together may be limited, Khalaf is cherishing every moment. He shared, “Each day that passes, I feel us getting closer to the big goodbye. It’s bittersweet, but I know I’ll be okay with time, cuddles from my cats, support from friends, and maybe some junk food.”
